With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Jose Miera, a beloved husband, father, friend, and community member, who left us peacefully on June 24, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 25, 1937, James spent his life in Alamosa, Colorado, where he touched the hearts of everyone he met. 

Alfirio Augustine Sandoval, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado, at the age of 91. 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sara (Sally) Beebe Kittredge, aged 99, on June 2, 2026, in Del Norte, Colorado. Born on April 18, 1927, in Ashland, Oregon, Sara lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, love, and dedication to her family. 

Pat was born on January 29, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and worked as an operator for the American Bell Telephone Company. In 1953, she married Charles Theodore Garoutte, Jr. (Ted), and they owned and operated a variety of businesses, including a grocery store, a fishing resort, Port of Call Catering, and an Indian jewelry business. They raised their four children at Bluewater Lake, NM; where outdoor fun and shenanigans were always in order. 

Leslie Edwin Draves, age 83, of Alamosa CO, passed away on June 8, 2026 in Englewood CO. He was born on July 26,1942 in Redvale CO to Edward Ferdinand and Mary Ann Adeline (Cunningham) Draves.

Helen Gurule, 72, a lifelong resident of Conejos, Colorado, passed away on June 16th, 2026 at her home peacefully. She was born in Alamosa, CO, to Elena Vigil and Frutoso Vigil. 

Esther Martinez Lopez, 96, a lifelong resident of Manassa, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1930, to the late Isais Martinez and Frances Gomez. 

Edward “Brother” Matthew Herrera, a resident of La Jara, Colorado, and former resident of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was born on January 19, 2010. 

Claudia “Clara” Jean Herrera, a longtime resident of La Jara, Colorado, and former resident of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Claudia was born on September 25, 1981, to Joseph Edward Pacheco and Ernestine Romero. 

Heaven gained another angel on December 19, 2025 at 5:25 pm when the Lord called Barbara Harmon Faucette home to end her pain. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dassie Victoria "Vicky" Naranjo, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who departed this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 17, 1950, in San Francisco, CA, Vicky's journey through life led her to beautiful moments in Monte Vista, CO, where she was known for her warmth, love, and unmistakable spirit.

Arthur Augustine Ortega passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 90 in Denver, Colorado. He was the second-born child of Ignacio Ortega and Porfiria (Archuleta) Ortega; born on February 27, 1936, in Capulin, Colorado. 

Rick found his greatest peace and joy outdoors, especially hunting in the hills of Southern Colorado, where he spent most of his life. A skilled marksman, he took pride in his time in the field and the discipline it required. He also loved fishing, camping, watching sports, and, above all, spending time with his family. 

Bhrett J. Pizza, age 68 of Marietta, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 16, 2026. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on February 5, 1958, the second son of John G. Pizza and Roslyn Pizza nee Havlicek (predeceased). Growing up in Hoboken, New Jersey, he attended St. Ann’s School/ Roman Catholic Church.

Gloria Anna Angela Ruybal, of Las Mesitas, Colorado, entered into rest on June 9, 2026, at the Rio Grande Inn Rehab Center and Nursing Facility in La Jara, Colorado.

James Michael Kehr, 73, passed away on June 7, 2026. Born on September 15, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, James was the son of Jack Kehr and Phyllis Hingle. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Creede, where he was raised and developed a lifelong love of the outdoors.
