Claudia “Clara” Jean Herrera, a longtime resident of La Jara, Colorado, and former resident of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Claudia was born on September 25, 1981, to Joseph Edward Pacheco and Ernestine Romero.
Clara was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy in life was her children. She dedicated herself to caring for her family and creating a loving home. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, attending car shows, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Christopher (Lorrinda) Pacheco; her sister, Mary (Carlos) Large; her brother, Jose (Christina) Pacheco; her daughter, Emily Herrera; her aunt, Roseana Noble; her special friend, Corvy Duran; her nieces, Seniza Pacheco, Angelica Pacheco, Leiliana Pacheco, Aliyah Pacheco, and Kayla Large; her nephews, Jonathan Martinez and Santos Large; and numerous cousins, step-nieces, step-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edward Pacheco and Ernestine Romero; her beloved husband, Claude Ojr Herrera; her son, Edward Matthew Herrera; and numerous other cherished family members.
Clara will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the many wonderful memories she created with those she loved. Her memory will be treasured forever by all who knew her.
A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the La Jara Ward, located at 716 Broadway Street, La Jara, Colorado. Family and friends may gather and pay their respects.
