Samuel W. Medina, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather as well as an esteemed member of the San Luis community. Samuel departed from this world peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 77. Samuel, affectionately known as Sam, was born on February 8, 1949 to Aurturo and Ursulita Choury in Denver, Colorado. At six days old he was adopted by his loving Uncle Sam Medina & his wife Rose. 

Sandra Lee Clark, who was born on April 5, 1940, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to Raymond and Jean (Kroll) Derouin, passed away on April 5, 2026 on her 86th birthday, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. 

Rica Consuelo Ruybal, a long-time Las Mesitas resident, passed away on April 30, 2026. At the age of 73, Rica was able to be in her home, surrounded by her family, when she passed from this world. 

Mark Jeffrey McAuliffe, 44, passed away peacefully at his home in St. George, Utah on the afternoon of April 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by the family he loved more than anything in the world. 

Eloisa Roybal, a remarkable woman whose life touched many hearts through her dedication, love, and faith, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Ogden, Utah. Born on October 13, 1936, in Capulin, Colorado, Eloisa’s journey was one marked by devotion to family, education, and community — an enduring legacy that will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. 

Patricia Ann (Crook) Cordero, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2026.  She was born December 29, 1953, in Tooele, Utah, to Curtis and Anna (Cruz) Crook. 

Gary Sandstrom, Sr., passed away on October 31,2025. His life was a testimony to his kindness, generosity and caring for all the communities of which he was a part. 

Wayne Arthur Schwab, a man of endless curiosity and a true "fixer of all things," passed away on April 27, 2026, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. 

Mary Pauline Jaramillo, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 81. She was born on October 7, 1944, in Monte Vista, Colorado, to Edward Gutierrez and Maggie Cortez, who preceded her in death. 

Capulin resident Maria Adela (Della) Lucero, 79, went home to be with the Lord on April 26th, 2026 . Della was born on September 15, 1946 in Capulin, Colorado, the daughter of Elizardo and Eva Vigil.  

Francis Kay Valdez, 71, of Del Norte, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, and is now in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love and memories …

John B. Bradshaw, beloved son, father, brother, friend and grandfather, died on April 16, 2026, in his hometown of Alamosa, Colorado. He was born on May 15, 1955, and was a proud graduate of Alamosa Highschool, class of 1973. 

Bill Lyle Riggenbach, devoted family man and renowned farmer, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at his home in Monte Vista, and at the age of 84 following a brief illness. He was born on December 15, 1941, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Kenneth Edward Riggenbach and Dorothy Irene Wiseman Riggenbach. 

Patricia Ann Dillon was born on November 21, 1948, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Paul and Arlene (Macy) Lincoln, and passed away in Paonia, Colorado, on March 29, 2026. She was a talented and dedicated nurse practitioner throughout her adult life and was deeply committed to serving others. 

Robert “Bobby” Whiteman passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved.  

It is with heartfelt warmth that we remember James Anthony Lucero, fondly known as Jimmy, who graced this world with his adventuristic spirit and friendly smile from April 26, 1963, until his peaceful passing on March 16, 2026. Jimmy was a true Colorado native, with the mountains of Alamosa witnessing his first breath, and the serene landscapes of Colorado Springs being present for his last. 

ALAMOSA — Robert “Bob” Ross Alonzo, 68, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 in Pueblo, Colo. surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on August 23, 1957 in Denver, Colo, the son of Frank and Mabel Alonzo. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. 

William Alfonso Maestas, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 6, 2026, in Monte Vista, Colorado, at the age of 91. He was born on February 15, 1935, in La Jara, Colorado, and spent his life embodying the values of hard work, family, and joy. 

DeLydia Joy Lynn Naranjo, 50, departed this world far too soon on February 21, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Monte Vista, Colorado. Born on March 7, 1975, in the very same town, DeLydia’s journey came full circle as she passed in the warmth of familiar surroundings that she loved so deeply

Mary Frances Rominger (Sickenberger), a devoted patron of the arts, loving and supportive wife and mother, and community volunteer, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 94.
