Three SLV Volleyball players to compete at CCGS All-State Games

ALAMOSA – Three high school senior volleyball players from the San Luis Valley have been chosen to play in the Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports All-State game which will take place Sunday at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins.

Selected to this year’s game are Alamosa Laci Christensen and Aubrey Rothermich, who will both play in the Class 3A game, and Sargent’s Reese Anderson, who will be in the Class 1A game.

Christensen was a four-year letter winner for the Mean Moose and she had 766 career kills. She missed most of her junior year because of an injury.

Rothermich was also a four-year letter winner and recorded 957 career kills. She has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball ay Adams State University.

Alamosa qualified for state in 2022, 2024 and 2025. The Mean Moose were Class 3A state runners-up this season.

Anderson lettered four years for the Farmers and had more than 2,000 career assists. She will attend St. Leo University in Florida where she will play volleyball.

Sargent advanced to the Class 1A state tournament the last two seasons.

CCGS began sponsoring an All-State volleyball game in 1978 to provide girls a showcase for talent. Each senior athlete is nominated by coaches in her league, while coaches representing the leagues make the final selection of 90. Players are chosen based on talent, dedication, team play and leadership.

The Class 1A match will begin at 9 a.m., followed by Class 2A at 10:30 a.m., Class 3A at noon, Class 4A at 1:30 p.m., and Class 5A at 3 p.m.
