With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michelle Renee Vigil, who entered eternal rest on Jun 30, 2026, in La Jara, Colorado, at the age of 53, surrounded by her loving daughters.
Michelle was born on February 9, 1973, in La Jara, Colorado, to Henry Candelaria and Silvia Vigil. She was a woman whose greatest gift was her heart. Michelle had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family was the center of Michelle’s world. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Whether gathered around a campfire on a family camping trip, sharing laughs over a game of bingo, or simply enjoying one another’s company, Michelle treasured every moment she spent with those she loved. She believed that life’s greatest blessings were found in the people we hold close, and she made it her mission to ensure those around her always felt supported and cherished.
Michelle’s love extended far beyond blood relations. She opened her heart to many, offering guidance, comfort, and unconditional love to those who needed it most. Her nurturing spirit and generous soul touched countless lives, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.

She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Espinoza of Denver, Colorado, and Sara Espinoza of Denver, Colorado; her sister in law Alex Vigil of Brighton, Colorado; and her treasured grandchildren, Zavion Romero, Waylon Romero, Aylah Trujillo, Eastyn Salas, Jaxton Montoya, Brooke Montoya, and Brantley Garcia, each of whom brought immeasurable joy and pride into her life.
Michelle also held a special place in her heart for the children she loved and cared for as her own; Manuel Vigil, Savannah Romero, and Kyrie Gonzalez. Her love for them was unconditional, and the bond they shared will forever remain a part of her legacy. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss her warm smile, gentle heart, and unwavering love.
Michelle was welcomed to Heaven by her father Henry Candelaria; her beloved grandparents, Luben and Olivia Vigil; her brother, Ronnie Vigil; and her stepfather, Freddie Espinoza. Though their reunion brings comfort, her absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who remain.
