Mary Virginia Olivas, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 24, 2025. Virginia and Manuel J Olivas, were happily married for over 38 years.
Virginia was born to Philemon and Gloria Montoya and raised in Monte Vista, Colo., with her siblings Bernice Sigala, Jimmie Montoya, Don Montoya, Sandra Martinez and Dolores Torres.
Virginia, beloved mother to six children Rhonda (John) Vest, Saul Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Leah Lopez, Ashley Lopez and Zayden Olivas. Grandmother to Felishia (Guadalupe) Bueno, Lynn Valdez, Saul Cortez Lopez, Diego (Adriana) Lopez, Deyonna Lopez, Ariana Lopez, Trinity Lopez, Michael Fernandez, Anevay Ramos, Johnny (Dayjah) Ramos and Jahnay Ramos. Great-grandchildren Luna Bueno, Sky Bueno and Xavi Lopez.
Virginia's greatest achievement in life is teaching her children, grandchildren, friends and family about the love of Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at the Valley Church of the Nazarene in Monte Vista at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
