Capulin, CO - The man, the myth, the legend — Ray Valdez — lived simply, loved deeply, played music loudly, and left a lifetime of laughter, music and memories behind.
Truly the only one of his kind, Ray was the most amazing husband, the greatest and most heroic dad, the most wonderful and fun grandpa (“Papa”), a wise and caring son and brother, the coolest uncle, a loyal friend, everyone’s favorite propane delivery driver, and among many other things, an unforgettable and awesome musician, whose bass lines and guitar riffs will play in our hearts forever.
At age 69, our beloved Ray was peacefully called to fly with the angels in the early morning hours of November 3, 2025. Cremation was chosen. A full obituary, along with details for memorial services, will be shared at a later date.
In loving remembrance, family members and friends will be offering masses for Ray in the coming weeks at various parishes across the San Luis Valley.
