Eva Pauline DeHerrera, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at the Pavilion at Villa Pueblo in Pueblo, Colorado. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her children, Shirley, D.C., Arnold, and Dennis, as well as her special friend, Kristina, who remained by her side during her final moments. Their presence brought her peace and reflected the deep love and devotion she inspired throughout her life.

Eva was born on July 23, 1934, in Mesitas, Colorado, to Cleofis Jaramillo and Eva Romero. She was raised with strong family values, faith, and a caring spirit that remained with her throughout her life. 

On June 16, 1955, Eva married the love of her life, Albert DeHerrera. Together they built a loving home and family. Eva devoted her life to being a homemaker, caring for her family with unwavering love, kindness, and dedication. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. 

Eva enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout her life. She loved doing crossword puzzles, reading books, and spending time with family and friends. While residing at the Pavilion at Villa Pueblo, she especially enjoyed playing bingo and Uno, coloring and painting, watching movies, Wii bowling, listening to music, singing, attending church services, and socializing with her many friends and the caring staff who became an important part of her life. 

She is survived by her loving children: daughter Shirley (Dennis) Carey of Pueblo, Colorado; sons Arnold DeHerrera of Alamosa, Colorado, and Dennis DeHerrera of Alamosa, Colorado; and she also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. 

Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert DeHerrera; her loving parents, Cleofis Jaramillo and Eva Romero; her sister, Priscilla Romero of Commerce City, Colorado, and her cherished brothers, Arthur Jaramillo and Joe Jaramillo. 

Viewing will be held prior to the funeral mass from 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will then follow and be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 726 Third Street, Alamosa, Colorado 81101. Following the Mass, Eva will be laid to rest at Alamosa Cemetery in Alamosa, Colorado. 

Eva will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, strong faith, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and those who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
