ALAMOSA – The Alamosa and Monte Vista High School boys golf teams competed at the Pueblo County Invitational Friday at Hollydot Course in Colorado City, and the Mean Moose also played at the Pueblo South Invitational Monday at Elmwood Golf Course..
Pueblo County Invitational
Alamosa finished in second place with a score of 259, trailing only Rye which won with 242.
Leading the Mean Moose was Gibson Gillespie who finished in 11th place with an 86. Eliott MacKey and Brady Van Iwaarden tied for 13th with an 87, and Clayton Treinen was 20th with an 89.
Monte Vista finished fifth with 266.
The Pirates were led by Connor Mellott who was he individual medalist with a one-over-par 72.
Aiden Ford was 29th with a 94, Corbin Castillo was 45th with a 100, and Logan Futrell was 53rd with a 105.

Pueblo South Invitational
Alamosa competed at the Pueblo South Invitational on Monday at Elmwood Country Club.
The Mean Moose finished in sixth place with 256. They were led by Serjio Najera and Gillespie who both tied for 10th with and 84. Van Iwaarden was 25th with an 88, and Kyan Mason was 45th with a 97.
Swink won the tournament with 247, followed by Pueblo Central and Pueblo County both with 250, Rye with 252, and Pine Creek with 253.
Swink’s Noah Pearson was the medalist with a one-over-par 71.

What’s next
All three schools will be in action on Wednesday. Alamosa will play at the Pueblo Centennial Invitational at Walking Stick Golf Course, while Del Norte and Monte Vista will be at the Pagosa Springs Invitational.
