Berlinda ‘Verily Velarde’ Archuleta

Posted

Berlinda Archuleta, 67, also lovingly known by her chosen name Verily Velarde, left this earth peacefully on November 24, 2025, with both of her children at her side. Her last moments were filled with love and prayer.

Born on July 22, 1958, Berlinda lived a life full of travel and adventure. She will always be remembered for her spicy personality, boundless energy, and joyful spirit. One of her greatest joys was praying for and with others, offering comfort, faith, and encouragement to those around her.

Berlinda was preceded in death by her mother Katy Macias, father Robert Velarde, sister Debbie Archuleta, and brother Jerry Archuleta. She is now embraced in God’s love and eternal peace.

She is survived by her sister, Selina (Tom) Olivas; her children, Gisela (James) Spencer and Ramiro Chavez Jr.; her grandchildren, Catherine (Dalton), Nayeli, Leticia, Destiny, Tristan, Elizabeth, Grace, Ramiro III, Janeya, Phoenix, Zen, and Dominick; and a large extended family whom she cherished deeply. Her legacy of love, strength, faith, and family connection will continue through each of them.

Her life reflected her favorite scripture:

“And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace

by those who make peace.” — James 3:18

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista, with the Rosary prayed on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the hope of the Resurrection and the eternal promise of Christ.

In keeping with Berlinda’s joyful spirit, she requested that those attending the celebration of her life wear colorful clothing as a reflection of her vibrant personality and love for life.

May the perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in God’s everlasting peace.

Berlinda — Verily — is deeply missed and forever remembered.
