ALAMOSA – Tim Yount released the third week of his 2024-25 high school wrestling rankings last Friday.
Class 3A
One local team is in the Class 3A team rankings as Alamosa has risen to the No. 2 position.
Mullen continues to top the rankings, followed by Alamosa, Eaton, Valley, Fort Lupton, Fort Morgan, Jefferson, Resurrection Christian, University and Gunnison.
Alamosa
Seven Mean Moose are in the rankings including four who are second in their weight divisions.
Currently in second are Jeremiah DeLaCerda (106), Uriah Martinez (132), Anthony Meder (120), and Dyson Woodward (150).
The remaining ranked Alamosa wrestlers include Ryan Cordova who is sixth at 165, Pablito Rodriguez who is ninth at 126, and Daniel Martinez who is 10th at 138.
Centauri
Five Falcons are mentioned and they are led by Parker Buhr who is second at 165.
The rest of the ranked Centauri wrestlers include Nik Skadberg who is sixth at 144, Troy Munson who is seventh at 157, Spencer Smith who is eighth at 175, and Erik Garcia who is 13th at 106.
Class 2A
There are no SLV teams currently in the Top 10.
Cedaredge is the No. 1-ranked them, followed by Wray, Rocky Ford, Highland, North Fork, Sedgwick County/Fleming, Dayspring Christian Academy, Fowler, Meeker and West Grand.
Antonito
The Trojans currently have no wrestlers in the rankings.
Center
Five Vikings are ranked. The list includes Andre Meraz who is third at 150, Aaron Valadez who is fifth at 165, Martin Palma who is seventh at 190, Michael Archuleta who is eighth at 113, and Nicholas Palma who is ninth at 120.
Del Norte
Paul Neal is the only Tiger in the rankings as he is seventh at 165.
Monte Vista
Four Pirates are mentions including Jeremiah Baumgardner who is third at 175, Kevin Cisneros who is fifth at 157, Mathieu Dean who is fifth at 106, and Jacob Pacheco who is sixth at 165.
Sargent
The Farmers have one grappler in the rankings in Jaycian Sierra who is 10th at 138.
Sierra Grande/Centennial
The only Panther who is ranked in Bryant Tijerina who is eighth at 132.
Class 4A girls
One local team in in the Class 4A rankings as Alamosa is in the sixth position.
Pueblo Central is first, followed by Lamar, Moffat County, Strasburg, Severance, Alamosa, Yuma, Skyview, Sedgwick County/Fleming, Woodland Park, North Fork, Gunnison, Canon City, Wiggins, Manitou Springs, West Grand, Fort Lupton, Pagosa Springs and Montezuma-Cortez.
Alamosa
The Lady Mean Moose have four ranked wrestlers and are led by Samantha Maestas who is first at 120, and Gizella Meraz who is first at 115.
The remaining ranked wrestlers include Leah Pintor who is seventh at 100, and Kennedy Hillis who is 13th at 110.
Antonito
The Lady Trojans have two ranked grapplers in Alysaa Abeyta who is sixth at 105, and Eliza Garcia who is ninth at 120.
Del Norte
The Lady Tigers. Currently have no wrestlers in the rankings.
Monte Vista
The only Lady Pirates who is ranked in Torrina Herrera who is 10th at 120.
