ALAMOSA – The Alamosa High School softball team defeated La Junta 12-11 in 10 innings in the regular season finale Tuesday at the Adams State University softball field.
The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Mean Moose scored twice in their half of the frame. Alamosa tied the score in the second and scored six runs in the third.
La Junta closed to within 9-6 in the fourth. Both teams scored a run in the fifth, and the Lady Mean Moose scored another in the sixth for an 11-7 lead.
The Lady Tigers tied the score in the top of the seventh. There was no scoring in the eighth or ninth.
Alamosa won in the bottom of the 10th on Shea Jordan’s RBI.
Jordan went the distance as the Lady Mean Moose pitcher and she took the win. She allowed 11 runs and 18 hits and she struck out six, walked two and hit two batters.
Alamosa had 15 hits and were led by Araceli Molina who went 3-6 with a home run and one RBI. Alivia Miller went 2-4 with a triple, a home run and three RBIs, Taelynn Kreps-Smith went 2-5, and Jordan went 2-6 with one RBI.
Alamosa (11-12, 1-7) will wait to see which regional in which it will play. The regional tournaments are next weekend.
