SOUTH FORK- As with many events throughout the Valley this past summer, the Town of South Fork and the Marvelous Mushroom Man Roger Dawson have agreed to cancel this year’s event due to safety concerns directly related to COVID-19.

The town has worked through several other events, making sure to keep safety and responsibility at the forefront for many summer activities. However, the town and Dawson felt that this particular event would need to be postponed until a later time.

Considering the small amount of precipitation that has come to the Valley so far this year, it has been predicted that mushroom season, which is typically quite good mid-August, is also expected to be less than normal. The favorite event will be missed by many, though several public attendees voiced their approval of the decision.
