SOUTH FORK—The Rio Grande Club & Resort in South Fork hosted an information and networking event on Saturday, May 12, presenting to the Realtors of Central Colorado and Pagosa Springs Association of Realtors and those affiliated with the real estate industry upcoming plans involving the development of the property.
Attendees included local and Denver realtors, an appraiser, architect, several members of the club and South Fork Visitor Center Director Mark Teders.
General Manager Todd Small recapped the history of the club’s three previous owners, introduced key players involved in upcoming development plans, and addressed the current status of the club and changes since the Freeman Group took ownership 18 months ago.
Ashlee Bratton, a member at the club, walked through the three membership tiers offered by the semi-private club.
Small and Bratton introduced the Rio Grande Club’s new referral program involving future property sales of the 77 lots available and owned by the RGCR. In addition, realtor Connie Goodnight representing the Freeman Group’s real estate interests debuted the six lots coming on the market.
The 30 realtors from the two realtor associations were shown some of the lots and taken on a tour of the fishing lodge where local architect Keith Helmstetler explained the plans to design a master plan and conceptual drawings for the first of seven fourplexes being designed for the 28 riverfront lots owned by the Freeman Group. Conversations also included different possibilities on realtor signage and communication to the public regarding what is for sale and who to contact.
In regards to the club, Bratton stated, “The health of the Rio Grande Club is directly tied to the health of real estate. It is nothing without this community. It’s nice to see life back in the Rio Grande Club. The club has gone from over 300 members, was down to 21, and is now over 120. It went from 6,000 rounds of golf in 2016 to over 8,200 rounds last year. The new owners have invested over $3.2 million in clubhouse and golf course improvements and property and believe in this community. Let’s face it, the future of the club is also deeply tied to South Fork’s real estate industry and the locals in this community.”
Small commented, “We love our tourism and real estate industries. It’s exciting when the two intersect. We are excited to host those in the real estate network and say thank you to an industry that is vital to our community and future of the club.”
This is just one of many events hosted throughout the season by the Rio Grande Club & Resort and was specifically designed to say thank you to the local realtor associations and those involved in the real estate industry.
