Letter to the Editor: Support of James Iacino congressman from Colorado’s 3rd District

To the editor,

This letter is in support of James Iacino to represent the San Luis Valley as our next congressman from Colorado’s 3rd District.

James brings dedication to public service as well as strong skills and approaches that are greatly needed in these times, from being a successful businessman and industry leader to a truly creative thinker. A third generation Coloradan, he is Executive Chairman of his family’s Denver-based Seattle Fish Company (founded 102 years ago). In 2016 he was named an Entrepreneur of the Year and the Colorado State University “Graduate of the Last Decade.”

James is committed to agricultural and its sustainability. With years of experience in the food industry, he is well aware of the needs for changes in the food supply chain. He will work hard to support local producers, sustain agricultural productivity, protect our water supply, and develop smaller, more regional food processors and distribution.

James also has strong proposals for our overall economic needs, including on transportation and energy, which are likewise vital to the Valley’s ag economy and that could open new opportunities here too.

We also need a congressman who will work to protect our public lands that are the source of our water supply, recreation, wildlife and the Valley’s valued way of life.

There is so much at stake in this election. More than ever, Colorado needs the best possible representation in Congress, to help us help ourselves and to protect our core interests. We are fortunate to have a candidate with James Iacino’s expertise, intelligence and commitment to public service to represent us. To learn more, see jamesforcolorado.com

Along with endorsements from Ken Salazar, John Salazar, Attorney General Phil Weiser, our former State Senator Gail Schwartz and many others, please join me in supporting James Iacino for Congress in the primary this month.
