Creede woman killed in rollover

CREEDE— A 27-year-old Creede woman was killed in a one-vehicle rollover near here early Monday morning.
Rachael Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene just south of town at mile marker 22.5 on Highway 149 after she was ejected from her Ford F-150 following the rollover. She was found in the middle of the road after the truck struck an embankment rolling 1-1/2 times up the steep hillside, landing on its roof and sliding down the hill where it then rolled onto its wheels partially in the road.
Bennett was not wearing a seat-belt and was ejected during the crash. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol, drugs, and speed are being considered as factors in the crash but it is still under investigation.
The Colorado State Patrol urges people to please buckle up when traveling.
