Angels thank special people for toy drive success

Dear Editor,
We would like to thank all the special people who helped make Christmas special for so many children.  The Angels Among Us Toy Drive was able to fill requests for 54 families with an average of three children per family this year. We couldn’t possibly do that without the help of the generous members of our community. I don’t have names for all who are so willing to deposit toys in the boxes around town, but you know who you are and thank you. Thank you to those that allow boxes to be placed in their businesses: Charizma Beauty Salon, KYDN/KSLV Radio Station, Rio Grande Savings and Loan, Sargent Elementary School, San Luis Valley Federal Bank, Sunflower Bank, Monte Vista Co-op and St. Peter’s Lutheran School.
Others who helped us to meet all the needs for the toy drive are Monte Vista Conquistadors, Methodist Church, Janice Jones Family, Jeff Hacsi at Town and Country for providing bikes, skateboards, and scooters and Carolyn Gonzales at the Vali 3 Theater for donating movie passes for the families. Your generosity is beyond words.
Thank you to Jerry and Tamara for allowing the use of the Information Center during this time.
Thank you Monte Vista community for being the wonderful, generous people that we can count on to step up when help is needed.
Sincerely, Kendra Sears, Colette Skeff, Monte Vista Community Fund
